Cargo sailing : launching of the Grain de Sail cargo sailboat
Â
The 22.9-meter aluminum cargo sailboat, built in our shipyard, was launched on the Loire river in early August 2020.
Â
Then, her keel, with its 13.5 tonne bulb, and rigging was installed mid August.
Â
Grain de Sail left the Loire estuary on August 26 to reach Lorient, before going around Brittany and taking place in its home port at Saint-Malo.
Â
Loaded with goods, he will soon begin his long journey to New York then to the Dominican Republic to load cocoa and coffee.
Â
The Grain de Sail will be the first modern cargo sailboat to cross the Atlantic.
